A Comfort Zone is Our Main Enemy!

By: Kajin Hashim

A comfort zone comes as a result of a routine and continuous base task or something we do, at which point, we would like to keep ourselves inside of it as we tend to feel comfortable and feel a sense of peace. After all, its the most effective way to avoid danger, right?

For example, an employed perosn would like to work for promoting his economic status, yet by trying to do so, he usually fails to leap out of his work-home routine job, and thus this betterment of his position is uncahivable, due to his decision to remain in his job.

Not only does this impact our careers, but also many aspects of our lives, which brings us to the question, what would happen if i eventually let go of this circle, and actually start working on my life:

• You will progress as you will experiment new things
• As you will gain those experiences, you will be known as a skilled person who went through many things
• Your decision-making will become much stronger
• A chance to meet new people, and excel in new topics which they may introduce
• Broadness of your thoughts and ideas

So, all of that sounds good.. But how can you get out of this comfort zone?

• Change your routine! Maybe grab an early breakfast with friends after you have walked for a long time.
• Go take new classes and new workshops!
• Make sure to avoid fear or anxiety
• Listen to podcasts!

Basically, anything with which is not commonly part of your day, seize it! After all, you will realise, the comfort zone that you once so cherished, becomes just an illusion!

Would You Like to Add Good Habits to Yourself

Would You Like to Add Good Habits to Yourself?

Many times, we wish to add many more good habits for ourselves or to avoid and remove a bad one such as anger. We notice bad habits as they have a bad impact on our lives and those who surround us.

Yet, despite the hard work and the attempts, perhaps many of us fail at doing such a thing. Have you ever wondered why?

Well, by Following the Law of the Farm, you can be able to achieve your goals.

This law implies an essential notion by using the metaphor of planting seeds. As we plant a seed, from a distance, it seems that it only requires water. But deep down we all know, the farming process is a collection of care, regulation, guidance, observation, and a complete availability of tools. Such might be the case with habits. As they tend to show themselves, like anger, we cannot simply just admit to hiding it and it fades away in instant. Like a seed, it needs care, time, management, learning how to use different means of speaking. Other than saying “you are not helpful!” or “you dont assist in cleaning!” we should emphasize other things such as: “I get tired” or “I need some help”.

This is just a simple way to introduce the law of the Farm.

Has Book Reading Become a Culture for Us Yet?

By: Kajin Hashim

Reading books is one of those methods that have a critical impact on an individualist in promoting mental capacities in workplaces, and if we were to talk about our communities, it is very positive to say that we have plenty of good books, alongside extraordinary writers. To such an extent, that we may find benefit from their work. Promoting book reading here requires multitudes of tasks such as having open discussion sessions where writers and book readers can come together to form opinions, or  you can have more entertaining activities such as exchanging books that can allow readers to have access to new works every now and then.

All of these tasks can have plenty of good impact on promoting book reading in here, yet what I can also add is the economic and financial benefit of having podcast programs centered around book reading alongside audiobooks.

Hoping for better and more interesting steps in such a thing!

Imposter Syndrome

Have you ever considered yourself as a failure and inadequate despite your high performance and great achievement? If the answer is yes, you might experience a phenomenon which is called imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is the state of being agitated and overwhelmed with self-doubt. People with imposter syndrome experience lack of confidence, motivation and negative self-talks.

This phenomenon can happen due to impossible standards and expectations that`s set by families which produce a perfectionist who`s unsatisfied with their success and achievements. Change can also lead to anxiety especially when it involves a new role and environment because often lack of experience and information are included when it comes to trying new things. Moreover, some people are afraid to be criticized by their surroundings, petrified that their weaknesses and incompetence will be exposed. Therefore, social anxiety makes them feel they're not good enough no matter how hard they try. Imposter syndrome leads to constant anxiety and sometimes ends up with depression. It deprives people from joy of success. It turns their achievements into a burden and prevents them from pursuing greater goals. Despite its impacts, taking effective actions such as sharing feelings and not fighting them, questioning thoughts and quitting comparison can help to move past imposter syndrome.

IRGC Claims Responsibility for Missile Raid on Erbil.

On the evening of the 15th of January, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, a paramilitary army loyal to Iran, claimed responsibility for a series of deadly missile and drone raids on Erbil, the capital city of the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

Although the attack was not the first in a series of multiple ones claimed by Iran and its affiliated factions in recent years, it was the deadliest to date as it has claimed the lives of 4 civilians and wounded many others with multiple damages to infrastructure.

The coordinated attack targeted various US and US-affiliated military bases, one consulate, and other organizations and individuals deemed by Iran to be against their interests.

IRGC claims that it was a response to continuous assassinations and military actions against them by the US and its allies, and their alleged claim that there are ‘Mossad bases’ in Erbil.

This comes after a rapid escalation of conflict in the Middle East, from the Palestinian-Israeli war To the current situation with Iran’s foreign policy.

In particular, a bombing in Iran which resulted in the death of about 100 civilians led to a more aggressive policy by Iran.

CRISPR's Breakthrough in SCD Treatment

CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats) is a revolutionary gene-editing technology that allows scientists to make precise changes to an organism's DNA. It works by utilizing Cas9 protein, which acts as a pair of molecular scissors, and a guide RNA molecule that directs Cas9 to the specific location in the genome where the desired changes need to be made.

On December 8, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's approval of exa-cel, the inaugural CRISPR treatment, represents a monumental stride in combatting sickle cell disease (SCD). This endorsement not only signifies a pivotal moment in the global fight against SCD, but also establishes the U.S. as the second nation to authorize a CRISPR therapy, following the U.K.'s approval in November.

Sickle cell disease is a genetic disorder characterized by abnormal hemoglobin, the protein responsible for carrying oxygen in red blood cells. People with sickle cell disease have red blood cells that are shaped like a crescent or sickle, which can cause blockages in blood vessels and lead to various complications.

The treatment involves directing the enzyme Cas9 to the BCL11A gene, deactivating it in bone marrow stem cells, and prompting the production of fetal hemoglobin, restoring red blood cells to a normal round shape. Physicians implement the therapy by editing a patient's own bone marrow stem cells with exa-cel, destroying untreated marrow, and reintroducing the edited cells.
