“What do you get from volunteerism?” is a question I usually receive as a young volunteer. Each time I get such a question, that makes me concerned because we as future leaders are still behind in valuing the importance of involving community service by volunteering. However, on the other hand, it is good to hear from youth that ask such a question because they wonder to know exactly what you get from a job without getting a fee. That is what I respond, “ The importance of Volunteerism cannot be measured, but the benefits are indefinite.” Let me tell you that we as young donate our time and energyavolunteers, but you know what you get instate? There are some of the advantages of participating in your community service:
Community service is the most effective approach to give back to and benefit your community. It has a significant positive impact on the community and you as a youth. Community service reconnects us to the community and helps us to engage more fully in society by assisting those in need. Also, tell us more about societal differentiation. Furthermore, when we volunteer in our community, it serves as a lesson for us. assisting us in comprehending the problems of society and the individuals we are attempting to assist through the project on which we are volunteering. Furthermore, having heard about problems is not the same as becoming intimately involved. We can develop our talents by participating in community services such as communication, leadership, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Even, statistic has shown that those youths who participated in community services are more likely to be happy, have a higher chance to succeed in the future, and young who volunteer have higher academic success rate. Although, they are less likely to engage with crimes, and they get more opportunities.
More importantly, here is the question of how we can Increasing Youth Volunteering. From my perspective, in order to help young people be able to help others, we should ask them to volunteer, encourage them to get involved in volunteering at a young age, encourage children and young adults to participate in community groups, organizations, student government, and school projects, and encourage a positive self image. Also, be a mentor in your community, share your real experience, using social media toolst to influence youth and spread awareness, and provide people the chance to join in courses that require or even encourage community service.
In the end, we are all as individuals responsible for engaging to serve our community because we are the ones who live in, who need each other, and we are the ones who can protect our world. So, by doing volunteering, that allowed all of us to live in a better place. The one who engages in community services knows the value of community services very well and should be the one who spread the awareness.
