Introduction to Kurdistan youth- Report 7: Visit and Travel
HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT TO VISIT AND TOUR CITIES/TOWNS OTHER THAN YOUR OWN?
According to the above graph, 60% of young people want to visit other cities a lot. On the other hand, 30% don't care whether they visit other cities or not, and 10% don't like to travel much.
The graph shows that 59% of young people think it is important to visit all other cities in the Kurdistan Region, while 30% think it is important to visit some and 11% to visit only a few of them.
IS IT IMPORTANT TO VISIT THE CITIES IN KRI?
The graph shows the percentage of young people who have visited the cities of Duhok, Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Kirkuk, and Iraq in general. According to the graph, 86.7% visited Erbil, 73.6% Sulaymaniyah, 52% Duhok, 38.5% Kirkuk and 22.9% visited Iraq. In contrast, 77.1% had not visited Iraq, accounting for more than three-quarters of the survey sample. Moreover, 61.5% did not visit Kirkuk, 48% to Duhok, 26.4% to Sulaymaniyah, and 13.3% did not visit Erbil. Most of the youth did not visit Iraq in general and on contrary, only 13.3% did not visit Erbil.
VISITS TO THESE CITIES
The graph shows that only 16.2% of young people visited Turkey, 19.7% Iran, and 11.8% visited countries other than Iran and Turkey. In other words, 88.2% of the sample had never visited any other country, while 80.3% and 83.8% of the youth had never visited Iran and Turkey, respectively. According to this graph, more than three-quarters of the sample have visited no country, which is more than 80% of the youth.
The graph illustrates the youth's answer to the country they would like to visit for a seven-day trip. Less than 5% of the sample preferred to visit the United States of America, Canada, Russia, Sweden, the Netherlands, the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, Korea, Japan, Georgia, African countries, and Armenia. On the other hand, between 5-10% of young people would like to visit another European country, Iran, Germany, another country in general, France, the UK, or an Arabic country. Turkey alone won 28.7% of the votes as a destination for a seven-day trip.
