Book Verse is Underway! Book Club Examines the First Book in a Series of Fun Activities
By: Birhat AtrushiThe Book Verse project began as part of ME-T headed by Mohammed Shaaban and Duaa Tariq which examines the role of book reading and forming groups that are centered on two things: How can we evaluate the role of books in helping us humans overcome major obstacles, and how can we convert the experience of book reading from a routine-based activity into a very fun and group-centered project?
For that, Bookverse was born. Headed by an enthusiastic team that already had done a marvelous job leading the book reading experience into a group, they were met with ME-T’s platforms and connections which allowed them to expand their outlook and become part of a major quest to the learning experience.
Foundation:
The group was established as part of ME-T’s commitment to expanding the work of the youth in the community by introducing them to new methods of understanding books even for those who are affected by incapabilities and other obstacles.
Being located in a region inherently misunderstood and in various conflicts and issues, it can be hard to sustain dialogue and maintain a healthy guide towards a better presentation of the community. Luckily, with projects such as the Book Verse, youth will now overcome these issues by establishing a plain and simple understanding of how books can help.
What is Book Verse?
It's a group of young readers who have had it with giving their focus to book reading alone. And alongside their dedicated team, have become enthusiastic about one thing, group discussions.
A lot can be said and done to speak of the many benefits that book reading can bring but imagine when such benefits, from lessons, fiction, and values, are being spoken of on a scale that invites people from all sorts of backgrounds, faiths, customs, and lets them on a new way of communication: a way that has books as the center of it all.
Why Book Verse?
To become oriented toward the development of youth and the place they should have in society, individuals become aware of things more easily and thus create a pattern of help and support which is pivotal.
Who is Behind Book Verse?
Mohammed Shaaban and Duaa Tariq are activists who present their work through a series of voluntary work based on bringing the experience of book clubs to a larger amount of people. This has given them a chance to present multiple sessions around the city of Duhok and even more.
With ME-T
Being part of ME-T is a chance to develop and maintain strong communication between the local communities around here. This project began as a group which grew immediately to a well-known book sharing and various ideas and beliefs being practiced and shown in a light that is friendly and beautiful.
ME-T sought to expand this and gave its hall to the team, which brought their experience to a newer level.
The First Session
As we know, Self-help books are known to be popular amongst people of all ages for their ability to transform difficult and intricate subjects and concepts into commercially successful series of books and podcasts that help humans in their method of understanding the world.
Atomic Habit is a well-known successful book that ventures into the topic of our conscious ability to understand human patterns.
The project had evolved into a catalyst for change, proving that the collective power of books could bridge gaps, foster understanding, and create a beautiful tapestry of shared knowledge.
